So, when I checked this one out, I didn’t realize it was the second one in the series, so therefore I didn’t read the first one, but I dove into this one straight away. (I didn’t feel like I was out of the loop at all, so you could certainly read this one without having read the previous one.)

This book had atmosphere to it. It was often spooky and this was enhanced by the writing and the descriptions. The writing was good as well, it flowed nicely.

The characters all felt true to life in some ways. They weren’t perfect by any means, but that made it better.

While it was a typical mystery, there were some twists to it so that was nice. It definitely had several mysteries going at the same time and it helped to keep the plot moving forward.

Overall, there was nothing that was supremely outstanding about this book, and if you’re looking for just a mystery book to read, this is fine for that.

I would certainly read another book by this author!
