Red, White & Royal Blue — Book Review

  Author:     Casey McQuiston

Red, White & Royal Blue is the story of two people: one a prince and one the son of an American President. It shouldn’t work — Henry and Alex don’t get along, not at all. But after causing an international incident, they are forced together to fix public relations.

This is a much needed book. I will tell you this: I thought it was YA at first and it is not. I am glad it is not. It is amazing to have what feels like the sweet YA plots fulfilled in an “adult” book. I read it in one sitting. I devoured the thing. There is little I hate about this book, in fact, I hate nothing about it. It is a sweet, feel good romance. It has so many things in it that I adore.

The characters for one, are fun. They’re hilarious. Sometimes I just want to shake them silly. I love them. I adore them. Even the secondary characters are fleshed out and it is amazing!!

The plot is as fun as the characters are. There are twists and turns and fun everywhere! Is there a little angst? Yeah, just a little itty bit.

And the writing is good too! I enjoyed reading this book, because it didn’t feel sloppy in the least.

I know I’ve already said it, but I absolutely adore this book. I cannot wait for more from this author!
