Hi all! First off, thanks to Ellie of Eleanor Sophie Writes who tagged me to do the Fellowship of the Ring book tag! I’m so stoked to do this. I apologize it took me so long!

Gandalf – A book that taught you something

Ooof. I guess it depends on what “taught” means. Tamora Pierce’s Tortall series taught me girls could be fierce fighters as well as loveable. As far as something more educational? Probably some of the ancient Greek Historians!

Frodo – A book that left a mark on you

It’s cheesy, but I always loved reading. The Elenium trilogy by David Eddings comes to mind as does Anne Bishop’s Black Jewels. I read both of them in middle school and they are two VERY different types of fantasy, but they left an indelible mark on me, and I totally know why I read the things I do to this day — it’s because of books like those. (Same for Tamora Pierce and Meg Cabot tbh).

Legolas – A book you finished in one sitting

See, okay. I finish most books in one sitting. So this is a bit…of an irrelevant question for me.

Gimli – A book that features an unlikely friendship

…can I same Gimli and Legolas? Haha! But in all seriousness I think that the group in The Raven Cycle is an unlikely friendship.

Merry – A book that pleasantly surprised you

I’ll admit to the fact that Frozen Crown by Greta Kelly pleasantly surprised me. I read it through the library then went and immediately bought myself a copy. I loved it. Also, The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren.

Pippin – A book that made you laugh

So, the Crave series chapter titles never fail to make me laugh. Red, White and Royal Blue too.

Boromir – A book/series that you think ended too soon

Any of Margaret Rogerson’s standalones, An Enchantment of Ravens and Sorcery of Thorns . So good! I want more!

Sam – A book with memorable side characters who stole the show

All of SJM’s side characters to be honest!

Aragorn – A good book with a bad/average cover

They’re not horrible, but The Queen’s Rising and The Queen’s Resistance have nice covers, but they’re just average looking. The books are five star reads.

Gollum – A book that had great potential but disappointed you in the end

Hah! Sadly, lots. I just wrote a whole blog post about disappointing sequels this year , but aside from that Elantris. Didn’t like it AT ALL.

I’m tagging all you who read this and want to do it!

Top 5 Tuesday is currently hosted by Meeghan @Meeghan Reads, but was created by Shanah @the Bionic Bookworm.

This weeks prompt is…Top 5 characters you’d like to trade places with.

Hmmm. I think it REALLY depends on what part of the story they’re in. Are they at the beginning? The end? WHERE ARE THEY? For my purposes we are pretending we’re trading places at the end of the story.

1. Daine from The Immortals (Tortall Series)

Yes, okay. This may be an obvious choice for me. She can talk to animals and shapeshift…two things I would love to be able to do. So here we are. Daine is my #1 pick for character I would trade places with.

2. Jude from The Folk of the Air series

Okay, I had to think on this second one for a bit. Jude has it pretty good by the end of Queen of Nothing. I wouldn’t mind switching places with her.

3. Elisabeth from Sorcery of Thorns

I mean…does this really need any explanation? Magic? Libraries? Magical libraries? I think not! This would be an ideal place for me to be.

4. Aelin from Throne of Glass

At this point, you should not be surprised she made my list. Her awesome powers…she’s a queen…how could you not want to trade places? Unless you’re at the beginning of Empire of Storms or Kingdom of Ash. Aside from that I mean…and maybe some other parts…

5. Blue from The Raven Cycle

My last one is Blue. I love TRC so much, and I think it would be cool to trade places with Blue and see all the other characters.

All right, how did I do? I have no idea because once I got past 4 I started to struggle because TBH would not want to trade places with 90% of characters.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words

I’m supposed to answer these three questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

I just finished…

I am currently reading…

I actually haven’t decided yet, but I have some options!

I am reading next…

These are the two I’m thinking of

A little side note, if I seem crazy the next few days it is because my library is reopening to the public, as in, letting people in the building. It’s very nerve-wracking as I am immune-compromsied and it is quite scary since we still have cases going up.

What about you guys?

Goodreads Monday was created by Lauren’s Page Turner . You choose a random book from your TBR and show it off!

Today’s book is one I’ve been excited about! It’s got everything I love in a book, and I am really excited to read it one day!

Goodreads Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Dayna Walsh is struggling to cope with her somatic OCD; the aftermath of being outed as bisexual in her conservative Irish town; and the return of her long-absent mother, who barely seems like a parent. But all that really matters to her is ascending and finally, finally becoming a full witch-plans that are complicated when another coven, rumored to have a sordid history with black magic, arrives in town with premonitions of death. Dayna immediately finds herself at odds with the bewitchingly frustrating Meiner King, the granddaughter of their coven leader.

And then a witch turns up murdered at a local sacred site, along with the blood symbol of the Butcher of Manchester-an infamous serial killer whose trail has long gone cold. The killer’s motives are enmeshed in a complex web of witches and gods, and Dayna and Meiner soon find themselves at the center of it all. If they don’t stop the Butcher, one of them will be next.

Have you heard of this one? Are you excited to read it?

Hello, hello, hello my lovelies! Today I come to you with the Book Prediction Tag! It was created by Book Princess Reviews and I was tagged by the wonderful Sofii at A Book A Thought! This seems like a really fun tag, and I’ve had to actually put some thought into it, because I really wasn’t sure what to expect.

There are some rules that must be followed, so here we go!

Next Read

Roomies by Christina Lauren. I’ve heard a lot about these authors. And I read their YA book and didn’t love it. I’m hoping this adult one will be better than I think. I’m not holding my breath about it though.

Next 5 Star Read

I’m going with The Shadow of the Fox because Sophie recc’d it to me, and I’ve listened to part of it and I was really enjoying it. I’m only like three chapters in. That counts, right?

Next 1 Star Read

Jeeze, uhm, Moral Compass by Danielle Steele or Roomies. Just because neither of those authors are really known to me. And I don’t know if I’ll like them.

Next Love Interest (or Character that Seems Really Cool to You)

Of Ice And Shadows…I’m just gonna plop that down right here.

Next Book You’ll Be Buying

…when am I not buying books? I just bought a crap ton of stuff, but it could be anything from my list really. It’ll depend on my mood. I still really want to own Renee Ahdieh’s Wrath and the Dawn series.

Next Book That Will Leave You with a Book Hangover (and Desperately Wanting a Reread or Next in Series)

This Coven Won’t Break. I know it…I’m going to want another one.

I’m Tagging
